The Martin Luther King Jr Monument is the centerpiece of the City of Compton’s Civic Center. Completed in 1977, the MLK, Jr. Monument was designed as a tribute to the civic right leader and a signal to the shift in communal ascension. The landmark is a collaboration between Canadian artist Gerald Gladstone and African American architect Harold L. Williams of Kinsey Mead & Williams.
The MLK, Jr. is located in downtown Compton, on Compton Blvd Between Acacia Ave and Willowbrook Ave.
